How are CNC Fabrication Service costs determined?
Simply put, Time and Material.
Time. CNC Service involves 3-4 steps. We charge for each step we perform for you:
Computer Aided Design (CAD) Service. Your idea needs to be turned into a scaled digital design, ready for CNC-output
Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) Service. Your digital design need to be converted to machine code. This is done with CAM or Slicer software
Machine Output. The actual printing or cutting of your design. This includes material preparation, machine setup/clean-up, and actual machine run time. At CIADC, our Staff will always operate the machines
Project Consultation. We need to fully understand the scope of your CNC job before we can quote it. 15 minutes of consultation are included for free. Additional time needed will be handled as hourly Private Instruction
Material. CIADC stocks select materials for purchase, or we can order for you. Any supplied materials must be approved by CIADC Staff as safe and effective for our CNC process prior to use; please contact us for more information
How do I receive a quote and have my CNC project started?
Please note that the CIADC CNC Fabrication Service is for anyone, however, it is designed to augment our internal education and access programming. Service jobs are completed around our core activity.
