STEVE FEINGOLD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Chicago Industrial Arts & Design Center (CIADC) is committed to making the creative industrial arts accessible to everyone. With the help of a generous gift, the Steve Feingold Memorial Scholarship Program was established in 2019 to help remove the financial obstacle associated with learning to create functional, sculptural, and product-oriented objects with industrial materials, tools and processes.

The Scholarship Program makes need-based scholarships available to anyone enrolling in our Youth Pathways Program -or- Adult-level classes. Awarded scholarships will cover 80% of the cost of tuition for one class. In case of exceptional circumstances, CIADC will consider waiving up to 100% of the tuition.

Steve Feingold was a lifelong learner and craftsman, and understood the benefits gained by working in a shop environment. Steve was a strong proponent of CIADC’s Mission.

To be considered for a Steve Feingold Memorial Scholarship, you (or your dependent) must:

Be age/grade-level appropriate for the Youth or Adult program
Plan on enrolling in a currently listed Youth -or- Adult Class (5-week, 10-week, or equivalent)
Have an Annual -or- Monthly Household Gross Income (before taxes) at or below the dollar amount listed in the following table
Submit the Application Form at the bottom of this page

Program Notes:

Application must be received by CIADC no later than 2 weeks prior to Class start date; Applications will be considered in order they are received
Receipt of Application is not a guarantee of scholarship award, nor does it reserve a spot in a Class
First-time applicants will be given priority before considering previous scholarship recipient applications
Scholarships will be awarded based on available scholarship funds each term, and information contained within each Application, solely at CIADC’s discretion
A new Application must be submitted for a scholarship request, each term
A maximum of 1 tuition scholarship will be awarded per person per term
CIADC reserves the right to ask for proof of income, or extenuating circumstances, at any time
CIADC reserves the right to deny an applicant for any reason
CIADC reserves the right to modify the Steve Feingold Scholarship Program any time, without obligation
